Independent Hearings Panel on PC14 – Housing intensification Proposals Christchurch City.
ICON has not made a submission however individual members have.
The Combined Residents Associations n their endeavours to pause the proceedings.
Here is a message from the CRA.
“This is just a heads up that individual members of your association (or anyone else for that matter) can present lay evidence related to your association's submission, even if they are not an original submitter.
Each person can read their personal story (evidence) aloud. Each witness gets about 10 minutes to present any new information they can think of related to issues you raised. Paragraphs 78 to 80 of the hearings procedures sets out the full requirements for lay witnesses: https://chch2023.ihp.govt.nz/assets/Uploads/IHP-Hearing-Procedures-UPDATE- FINAL-23-August-2023.pdf
Because none of us can afford to employ experts, this might be a very good way of getting a much more personal message across, impressing on the Panel just how seriously you regard these planning changes and what level of support you have.
And finally remember our petition - please sign and share the link with friends - even if you don't live in Riccarton.
