Digital Technology

Michael Davidson - February 17, 2025

At Te Kura o te Mātāpuna Isleworth School, we are committed to integrating digital technologies into our teaching and learning practices to prepare our students for a rapidly evolving digital world.

By fostering digital fluency, our students become confident, connected, and capable digital citizens, equipped to navigate and contribute to the digital age.

Our classrooms are equipped with a range of digital tools to enhance student learning. Chromebooks and iPads are used across the school to support inquiry, creativity, and collaboration. These devices allow students to access online resources, engage in interactive learning experiences, and demonstrate their understanding in innovative ways. Coding and computational thinking are key focuses in our curriculum, supported by the use of Sphero Bots and other coding equipment. Through these hands-on experiences, students develop essential problem-solving and logical thinking skills, aligning with the Computational Thinking (CT) and Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes (DDDO) strands of the Technology curriculum.

Staff have invested in professional development to ensure they are confident and skilled in delivering a dynamic digital curriculum. We regularly engage with external agencies who provide hands-on sessions full of practical ideas to enhance students learning.
