A big, happy welcome to all our students, as you head back to school in 2019!

Fiona Smallridge —

The teachers in Team Wairere are looking forward to welcoming you back to school. We can't wait to see our friends who are returning to year 6 and to meet our new friends in year 5.

Your teachers have been working hard to prepare for an exciting year ahead.  Here are some things you might want to know, before we see you on Wednesday:

  • We have had some personnel changes in Wairere this year.  Fiona and Jonathan remain in the team.  We warmly welcome Tim Colhoun, joining us from Moana and Deb Jackson, who is teaching in term one for Rachel Simmonds, while she is on her Māori course.
  • Swimming.  We will be swimming almost everyday, so please make sure your children has named togs, towels and goggles at school, ready to go.   As swimming is part of the PE curriculum, we would appreciate your support in ensuring your child swims each day.  Only valid reasons should be used to excuse your child from this learning.
  • Hats are compulsory from week one please.  Remember to name them clearly.
  • Stationery.  We plan to begin using our books on the first day.  Please have the required stationery ready on day one.    (The stationery list went home with the report last year).
  • Camp will be held this term.  We are heading to Living Springs Camp in week ten, term one.  We will not know the total cost until nearer the time when numbers are finalised.  If it helps, you can make progress payments to this Isleworth School account:  12 3149 0260779 00.  Reference: your child's name; particulars: camp.
  • Meet the Teacher sessions are on Monday 11 Feb.  That's in week three.  We are running two sessions.  You can see us at 3:15pm or at 3:50pm.  We really value our relationship with parents, so would love to see you there if you can make it.

We are looking forward to working in partnership with you this year.

See you next week!

Fiona, Jonathan, Tim and Deb
