Board of Trustees
Isleworth School - December 6, 2024
A board is the governing body of your school. We are responsible for the governance of the school, including setting the policies by which the school is to be controlled and managed.
Our principal works at the day-to-day running of the school and we work closely together on getting the business side of things sorted.
We meet as a full board most months of the school year. Our board members are Fiona Bennett, Shane Johns, Gail Burt and myself. Principal: Sophia Roulston, Staff Representative: Michael Davidson and School Secretary: Julie Dawson. Our meetings are very open and there is space for everyone to bring their skills, ideas and thoughts. Our principal has vast knowledge and it’s important we harness that at Board level and understand what’s happening on the ground.
We begin our meetings with a Karakia and I am proud to say my fellow board members have great respect and Mana for each other.
Schools are for students. Everything we do needs to be mapped to how it will help our students succeed. “School, family and community partnership are not a luxury – they are a necessity. Strong partnerships create the conditions where children are more likely to learn, stay in school and succeed.”
We welcome anyone to attend our meetings.
We remain committed to make our school a place for our children to be happy, safe and connected.
