Team Moana Update
Haere mai and welcome back to Isleworth. We are looking forward to celebrating your first days back with us in our new surroundings.
Welcome back
Another school year is upon us and we are excited to be working in partnership with you and your child during 2020. We see our team made up first and foremost with your children, yourselves, and us as educators. Your children will be taught by four teachers this year - Mr Tim Colhoun, Miss Lagan Gardyne, Mrs Tracy Brown and Ms Raywyn Wright (Deputy Principal and Team Leader), supported by Mrs Elisa Currie on Wednesdays as Raywyn’s Release Teacher.
Location
This year Team Moana is located in Block 2, this is our old Rooms 5-7 and Library. Miss Gardyne and Mrs Brown will be working within the old Room 6/7 space and Mr Colhoun and Raywyn will be working within the old Room 5/Library space.
Moana and Wairere children will eat their lunch in the Senior eating area which is now located in front of the old, Room 13.
Cloak bays for bags are located at the back of each classroom along with toilets. Children in Raywyn's class (Library) will put their bags in the cubbies supplied in this room.
How Team Moana will work this year
You will notice some changes to our classroom environment and that your child has more than one teacher. The quality of teaching and learning remains our priority, as does building core foundation skills of literacy and numeracy in every child. This year your child will have a whānau teacher. This teacher will be your first point of contact if you need to talk, followed by Ms Raywyn Wright as Team Leader. Your child however will be taught by all four teachers at various stages throughout the year. You are welcome to talk to any of the team, as all of us are equally responsible for the children.
Swimming
Team Moana will be swimming on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please ensure your child brings all their swimming gear on these days. Swimming is a compulsory part of our curriculum and therefore if your child is unable to swim, a caregiver/parent note must be given to their home teacher.
