Welcome back Team Wairere
Haere mai and welcome back to Isleworth. We are looking forward to celebrating your first days back with us in our new surroundings.
Staff
Our wonderful team consists of Anna Alfano as Team Leader, Hayley Witt, Jonathan Ritchie and Leanne Spicer.
Mrs Anita Carey will be releasing Miss Alfano one day a fortnight (Tuesday) as part of her leadership role, as well as releasing Miss Hayley Witt once a week (Thursday’s) as part of her continuing professional development.
Location
Team Wairere is lucky to be located this year in Block 1, this is our old Rooms 8-13. Anna Alfano and Hayley Witt will be working within the old Room 12/13 space and Jonathan Ritchie and Leanne Spicer will be working within the old Room 8/9 space. The space is looking inviting and extremely spacious thanks to the hard work of the team over the break.
We have moved the Senior eating area to the seated area in front of the old Room 13. Sadly we cannot move the playground equipment - a costly exercise!
School Day
Term 1 begins on Thursday 30 January 2020 at 8.55am.
Our school day reflects the Play, Eat, Learn pedagogy of Dr Kathleen Liberty. The aim is to improve the well-being, health, focus and learning of our students. It reverses the break time so that students will play first then return to class, eat, be calmer and ready to learn. We will not be losing any learning time - in fact the learning time will be better positioned.
8.30am School open for students to arrive, staff in spaces unless on duty. Breakfast Club opens

Swimming
Team Wairere will be swimming on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please ensure your child brings all their swimming gear on these days. Swimming is a compulsory part of our Curriculum and therefore if your child is unable to swim, a caregiver/parent note must be passed to their home teacher.
Mihi Whakatau
We will have a welcome for all new students and their whanau on Wednesday 5 February starting at 9.30am. Please come and support your son or daughter. We will share kai at the end of this welcome in the staffroom. Grandparents and siblings are welcome.
Open Afternoon
All spaces are open on Wednesday 29 January from 2-4pm for any parents and students who would like to come in and check everything out in the spaces.
For parents who have any questions, please speak with your home class teacher in the first instance and then to Anna Alfano as the Wairere Team Leader.
