Celebrating our Students

Kara Mason —

We enjoy sharing with you the achievements of our students. To date there have been many individuals and groups who have done themselves and our kura proud.

Firstly, we acknowledge the students who were involved in our beginning of term Matariki ceremony.  Year 8 students were involved in some of the hāngi preparation.  Special acknowledgement to Jack Penn who delivered his first whaikorero, and didn't he do that well, so well-spoken and with such dignity for the occasion.

Another special mention to the Junior students who spoke at the ceremony, sharing their knowledge of the Matariki Cluster.  Those students were, Emily Bell, Elise Andrews, Michael Mattocks, Tre-Legacy Tupaea, Georgia Hulme, Shilo Baillie, Ngaire-Rose Ratana, Amene Rakatairi-Jetson and Eli Goddard.  Thank you to those whānau who supported those students to be involved.

We would like to acknowledge all of the students in our kura who participated in the powhiri for the South Rangitīkei Kapa Haka and Cultural Festival which we hosted.  The students put a lot of effort into being prepared for this event and on the day they were great ambassadors, putting into action everything they prepared for.
