School Uniform
Thank you to the families who are supporting our school's uniform policy. We believe that there are clear guidelines in place to let whānau know what is expected of our students at JCS. This is available for you to read in the attached document.
It is difficult for teachers to form positive relationships with their students if they start each day in confrontation over incorrect uniform. To ensure consistency, all concerns around uniforms are going to be dealt with by Mr Bell.
If you have any reason why your child is unable to wear correct uniform, please contact the office or Mr Bell. We have spare uniforms and shoes available in most sizes. Please do not abuse this offer. We do not have an unlimited supply of shoes for students who misplace theirs regularly.
Incorrect Uniforms - Junior School
Parents can expect a conversation with Mr Bell. For the most part, it is not in a young child's ability to manage the clothes they wear to school each day. It is not in the interests of a positive school experience for a young child to be questioned over their clothing. It is the parent's responsibility.
Incorrect Uniforms - Year 4 - 8
At JCS we encourage our students to take ownership of their actions. Mr Bell will have conversations with students about their uniforms and if he can help he will provide them with replacements. If students refuse support, parents will be contacted.
