Some of this learning started at the end of last term when all students spent time learning with Mark in the Life Education bus.

The learning that we are doing this term will also set our students up for success when they go on their trips and Camps and have to live with each other for a few days!

Camps this term;

Information has been sent out for Years 6-8 for the camps that are happening this term.

Year 6 students are heading off for 3 days and 2 nights to the Taranaki area, Opunake, Dawson Falls and Hawera.  They have a great programme planned, including walks in some spectacular parts of that area.

Year 7 and 8 students are away for 4 days and 3 nights to Ohakune, Mangatepopo, Tokaanu, Taupo and back to National Park.  They too have a wonderful programme planned.

Both camps provide an appropriate level of physical and emotional challenge for students of this age.

Other day trips this term include;

- He Kākano trip to Mount Lees.

- Ms Gray's small group trip to Heartland Cottage in Foxton.

- Ngā Puawai trip to Whānganui Boys and Girls Club and Splash Centre.

I take this opportunity to thank the Board of Trustees who included in our budget this year $18,000 for EOTC opportunities.  Thank you also to our community for supporting our fundraising events that also go towards keeping costs to a manageable amount.  Day trips incur no cost to students and camps are $20 per night.

We look forward to these events going ahead for the students and hope that the camps will be among your most memorable school moments.

This term we start swimming, our Year 4-8 students will be swimming down at the Marton Pools.

We hope to open our school pool soon for Junior swimming and some recreational swimming if the weather heats up!
