PE - Non Uniform Clothing

Matthew Bell —

Why can't we just wear uniform for PE?

Non Uniform PE gear is really important for our students. It should be in their school bags everyday.

For our Junior Students, it is important for them because they tend to spend time in mud and puddles. A change of clothes in their bags gives them something to change into. It also saves parents a trip into school with a fresh change of clothes. Another plus is it gets them into good habits for when they are older.

As our students move into the Middle and Senior Syndicates, students tend to become competitive in field sports. A change of gear enables them to play on the field without their uniform getting dirty. I also challenge any parent to sit in a Senior classroom after PE. The smell of clothes that have been worn for both uniform and PE for a week can be quite testing!

Students who do not bring PE gear can miss out on opportunities to join in on games and learning activities. Thank you to whānau for supporting us in this kaupapa.
