Kapa Haka Cultural Festival

Kara Mason —

Congratulations to the students who represented our kura.

Yesterday we participated in the Southern Rangitīkei Kāhui Ako Kapa Haka Cultural festival.  This included Marton, Hunterville, Bulls, Turakina, St Matthews, Clifton and Marton Junction.

We are so fortunate to have the quality of waiata and hāka to perform, enhanced with the beautiful kākahu (costumes) that we have to wear.  Thank you to Rangitīkei College who loaned us their piupiu which our Senior students had the pleasure of also wearing.

The day was wonderful, a celebration of all our tamariki, no matter which school they attend.  We were extremely proud of our students!

As part of our preparations we spent an afternoon at Te Kura Waenga o Tirohanga Monrad Intermediate in Palmerston North.
