Mahi Tahi Focus

Kara Mason - February 12, 2024

Each year we have a school-wide focus which underpins what we do.

This year our mahi tahi focus is another feature of our school vision 'Achieving excellence through aroha, endeavour and resolution'.  This year we have chosen 'endeavour' as our mahi tahi.

The staff started the year working together weaving tukutuku panels with the 'poutama' design.  These are all on display in the hall along with our pepeha.  The  design itself fitted well with the whakatauki about Tāne ascending to the heavens for the 3 kete which we have adopted as an underlying concept to our value of endeavour (visible on our school-wide expectations).

The students have begun working on their own tukutuku, weaving into it their identity, their important people, values and aspirations for the year.  We look forward to sharing these with you at Huakina Mai.

Pictured below are our staff working on 'teacher only day' weaving their tukutuku.
