HERE THEY ARE……HOUSE LEADERS FOR 2021

Admin Staff —

The start of a new school year is always exciting: new teachers, new learning, new opportunities to grow and serve……….and NEW HOUSE LEADERS.

Little do they know it, but students in the Tiwai Learning Area have been “watched” for some time to see who might be gifted by God to serve in the role of house leaders. Furthermore, a full day of team building and learning about leadership started the year. This day provided an opportunity to see which students would rise to leadership, which ones quietly encouraged and modelled key aspects of teamwork and which ones showed care, concern and respect for others.

After many conversations and much prayer, the Tiwai teachers, Mrs Mackie and Mrs Stoffels, along with Ms Bosman and Miss Morris, made the important decision about who would serve as House Leaders at Jireh Christian School.

This year, the decision was made to appoint a House Captain of each house, with this person being supported by two house leaders. This is a variation of having a Head Girl and Head Boy, as we had last year. It is with great delight that we announce the following people as house leaders for 2021:

Whero:

Alwin Stephen (House captain), Indiannah Rhoda and Ayesha Jackson

Kakariki:

Jessie Spemann (House captain), Eva Reitsma and Ethan Baird

Kikorangi:

Nevaeh Siju (House captain), Isaiah Papau and Anna Cooper

Kowhai:

Jordyn Stoffels (House captain), Daniel Liebert and Martha Walton

Unfortunately, COVID-19 lockdown has prevented us from adding photos to this announcement but watch this space……the photos are coming. 😊

Tiwai is blessed with a huge number of very capable students, all with hearts willing to serve and support and lead. Apart from house leadership, there are several other opportunities for servant leadership in the school. Other positions will be sorted in the coming weeks. Tiwai is looked to for support in the playground, as wet day monitors, library monitors, house points’ collection and Assembly set-up to name just a few.

In the book of Romans, we are all exhorted to use the gifts we’ve been given to serve the Body of Christ. Our prayer is that all students will seek such opportunities as we track through 2021 together.
