Update as at 2 March 2022

Dear JCS Whanau

Thank you for all your support and encouraging words as we traverse the Omicron surge. Whilst numbers of students attending school are low, it is great to see those returning as their isolation time is completed. A number of classes are able to combine to allow teachers to attend to those learning at home. We will continue to do all that we can to keep school open for those who can attend on site and at the same time offer online learning for those learning at home. Please email your child/ren’s teacher if you have any questions around the online learning programme.

Today I can report that we have an additional staff member test positive for Covid 19. They are isolating at home. The parents of the class impacted will be emailed separately. There are also three additional students who have tested positive, one in Nikau class, one in Tui class and one in Moana class.

Please continue to follow good hand washing and hygiene practices

· Wash often with soap for 20 seconds and dry your hands completely.

· Wash your hands if you have been in a public place or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

· Avoid touching your face if your hands are not clean.

· Cough or sneeze into your elbow or cover your mouth with tissues

· If you are unwell, stay at home, get tested and let the school know if the test result is positive

· All household contacts must isolate for 10 days.

· If you have a household contact who tests positive, stay home and isolate for 10 days. Please let the school know.

We pray for a complete and speedy recovery for all in our community, who are unwell.

If you need any support in any way, please contact us.

Once again, I encourage you to look up from whence your help comes and be at peace.

Psalm 121 1

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Yours in His service
