The highlight of the winter exchange was the 1st XV rugby team winning the Trusteebank Cup.

St Andrews College from Christchurch arrived on a Sunday afternoon, with the visitor's basketball team taking out the first game of the exchange.

The next day, our debating team won by half a point, all our golfers won their match play game, our badminton won overall, and our football team won 1-0. In a close and ever-changing game our hockey team went down 5-6.

In a game in which the lead changed many times, the 1st XV secured the Trusteebank Cup (which is a challenger cup played by all South Island schools)with  20-19.
