Year 7 and 8 students have been participating in workshops to develop creativity, problem solving, and team work; within a range of real-world and imaginative open-ended predicaments.

Fencing at McGlashan is becoming popular again.  Our fencers wield their foils and epees in a way that is worthy of any Shakespearean swordsman.

The John McGlashan Cross Country, showcased some fine young talent and unearthed a surprise winner in the senior race.

Sir Ken Robinson said, "Creativity is now as important in education as literacy". Arts subjects can help us break out of traditional patterns of thinking and adopt fresh approaches to intellectual experiences. The arts complement more traditional subjects by enhancing creative thinking skills.

Henry Bell and Reon Lowery were chosen to go to a Lions tour breakfast and the Highlanders 'Captain's Run.'

Rugged shepherds, returned soldiers, dastardly criminals, daredevil parachutists - just some of the characters our Year 9s brought to life in their recent assessment.

On the 7th of June 140 boys and guests came together for a meal and to hear Judge Michael Crosbie speak.

At 6 O’clock in the morning of 19th of May, Mr. Mountain picked me and eight other students up from our hostel and homestays and started driving us to Lake Manapouri. 

Our chess team just won't stop winning.  Yet again, we are on our way to the nationals.

McGlashan have secured a national secondary schools futsal ranking after contesting the New Zealand Secondary School  Futsal Championships for the first time.

The 10th of June was a date marked on the calendar of many Year 12 and 13 students in Dunedin for months now, as it was the date of the John McGlashan formal for 2017.

The annual Sports Council Dinner will be held on the last Thursday of this term. A great chance to catch up with the wider school community.

The John McGlashan 1st and 2nd XV had a very successful tour of Australia in April, on and off the field.

Leaders are not simply born. Through practical and inspirational experiences we can provide opportunities to unlock future leadership potential. May 29th was one of these chances.
