Thank you everyone for your amazing support so far with organising our first ever Careers Conference at school. We have now filled all our 60 slots and I’m in the process of compiling the options booklet for students so they can choose which 4 careers they’re going to go and hear more about.

Please use this as an opportunity to have a discussion as a whanau about what skills and characteristics different careers involve, and what students are thinking about in their futures. Many students are excellent at finding out about what qualifications they need for jobs but often seem to have misconceptions about what jobs involve on a day-to-day basis, or what soft skills they need to be preparing whilst at school.

Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing some of you as our lovely volunteers!
