Trades Academy

This year we have 15 students in the West Coast Trades Academy.

We have students participating in Building, Automotive, Cookery, Mechanical Engineering and Hair and Beauty.

Year 1 students spend each Friday & Year 2 students on Thursdays at the Polytechnic. Students get practical hands-on experience and work on units at the same time.

I talked to Hayden Little who is in Cookery Year 1. He has really enjoyed trades so far. He has made dishes like sausage rolls and hot cross buns. I asked him what his favourite dish was that he has made and he said the french apple cake was by far his favourite.
