On Wednesday night the John Paul II Senior basketball team played their first game against Greymouth High School Tawa.  The Saints came out strong in the first quarter leading 22-4.  

The Saints were lead by a flawless Phoenix Smith who was dominating Grey High on the offensive end. The Saints played well the whole game, that meant they would pressure the defense full court and force the opposition to commit errors through out the time Grey High Tawa had the ball. 

The Saints ended up beating Grey High in a convincing fashion winning 89-19 with the top scorer Phoenix Smith who ended the game with a record 52 points!
