I am excited to continue developing my career in education at JPII as the Learning Area Leader of Social Science. I bring a strong foundation in secondary education, with qualifications from the University of Canterbury in Teaching and Learning, as well as a Master of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management from Lincoln University.
My experience as a Social Science teacher is complemented by a diverse background in both the private and public sectors, including Parks and Recreation Management, Tourism, and Hospitality. Through dedication, hard work, and a passion for learning, I have developed a well-rounded skill set that blends practical experience with academic expertise. I am committed to continuous growth and embrace the opportunity to learn something new
every day.
As a Teacher-Kaiako, my approach is deeply rooted in relational learning. I am particularly passionate about cross-curricular, project-based, localised, and student-led learning, and I strive to create an adaptive and engaging educational environment. I look forward to further developing these strengths alongside the students and staff at JPII.
Having grown up in Canterbury and permanently settled on the West Coast in 2018 after many visits, I feel a strong connection to this region. I am eager to meet you all and to learn and grow together as part of the JPII community.
