Kia Ora Hauora Work Placement Programme

Careers —

Kia Ora Hauora are excited to be able to offer a 3-day Hospital Work Placement Programme in conjunction with the West Cast District Health Board.

The Work Placement  programme is a successful component to the Kia Ora Hauora programme in Te Waipounamu and we are thrilled to be able to offer Maori students who are serious about  a career in Health to attend a 3-day work placement at Te Nikau Greymouth Hospital on Tuesday 17th to Thursday 19th August 2021.

The work place exposure is designed to promote the diversity of health career pathways by providing an opportunity for students to see firsthand what Kaimahi(health workers) encounter on a day to day basis within different areas of the West Coast hospital.  Furthermore, students who take part in the programme will gain access to information, including scholarships and tertiary options, they need to make further study a reality.

Criteria:

  • Years 12 or 13 Maori student
  • 16yrs of age or over
  • Able to attend Tuesday to Thursday from 9am to 4pm
