Catholic Character

Abina Pope —

Congratulations to our year 13 Leavers, we had a wonderful retreat at Punakaiki.

A wonderful time for reflection and restoration before the External Exams. Thank you all. Link to Instagram jpii.hs

Thursday saw Jasmine Paneda hand over the leadership of the Catholic Character Hub to our year 10 students, who are most enthusiastic.

Fr Mat came along to visit with the group and begin the Eucharistic Ministry training. A special welcome to Elvie Underwood to the programme.

All Souls Mass was very serene, and wonderful to see multi-generations of family at Mass. Thanks to Flynn Swinburn who helped with the Spiritual Bouquets from JPII.

The Raukura (white feather) is a sign of peace associated with the people of Parihaka.

Why should we commemorate Parihaka?

A Parihaka celebration could focus attention on the many shared values of peace, equality and nonviolence that arise from that history.
