Geology Talk - Paul Caffyn
Last week we had Paul Caffyn in to talk to the Y10’s about the geology of Punakaiki for their internal.
Paul Caffyn is a well-renowned sea kayaker based on the West Coast of New Zealand. He has completed a number of supported, unsupported, solo, and group expeditions by sea kayak in various locations around the world, as well as many caving expeditions. Paul has written a number of books about his expeditions and has a geology and teaching background.
We were delighted that he made time to come in and give expert teachings on the geology of the Punakaiki area to our Year 10 students who are doing their first NCEA Internal in Science. “He was a very clear speaker and I learned a lot” Raphaela. “He gave us information that we were struggling to find on the internet” Libby. “He was good at making it easy to understand” Sarah.
