On Wednesday Marine Club went snorkelling at the pool. What felt weird and impossible quickly became natural. The point of learning this skill thoroughly is so that students can do scientific research in rivers, lakes and the oceans, both on the West Coast and hopefully in other regions or even overseas. Learning in the pool ensures that students are capable with swimming and diving while snorkelling and wearing fins, and they learn communication signals to manage risk in the environment.
If you have any snorkel kits we could borrow, we would love to hear from you.
