Olivia climbed Mt Carroll.

Olivia Johansen —

We love to hear about student adventures. This is the first in the series showcasing what our students are getting up to.

I carried a full pack thousands of meters up into the snowline. It was cold on the way up the mountain because there was a lot of snow. I walked right up to the top and the snow was waist deep.

I met some strangers and we shared my lollies. I ate only the army pack because I wanted to know what exactly the army people eat.

In the hut, there was no fireplace or wood to light one. But the view from the toilet was amazing; it looked straight over goat hill. We came across 1 big brown billy goat up on the top of the mountain. It was so cold at night and the men that were on the top bunk snored very loud.

The water up there is delicious its like the freshest water ever and it is cold kind of like fridge water just a little bit colder.
