Abina Pope —

Many thanks to Fr Tang for celebrating our Term 3 Mass within the School. Our Senior leaders spent several hours preparing the readings and Mrs. Jess McMillan spent several hours with our choir.

Both Waiata’s were sung very well. A vote of thanks to all who helped with Mass, and to Ivory Rancho for the music during Communion. To quote a Maori proverb -  "it is the people, it is the people", and the people that make the community.

Caritas Social Justice Week is 4 – 10 September. The focus is on Racism, and this is the topic for the essay question that is held by the Justice and Peace Commission of our Diocese in the latter half of the term.

Reflection days are booked for Y9 and 10 in term 4, 20 and 21 st October at St John Rooms on Waterwalk Rd. The new Youth Team will facilitate this.

Save the date: Sunday 28th, parish Mass at 9.30 am - JPII will be in the kitchen helping with the cup of tea after Mass. We look forward to seeing you there, come and meet our fabulous students and staff.

A Prayer for our students

Jesus,

This is a stressful season, and I'm overwhelmed by the mountain of work ahead of me, yet I trust in you. I know that when I put my faith in you, even when it's as small as a mustard seed (Luke 17:6), miracles can be accomplished.

I pray that as I study in these coming weeks, as I soak up knowledge and memorize facts, as I read and process and write; that you will be renewing my mind and strengthening my spirit.

Help me to persevere through the massive to-do lists and the busy schedules and help me to keep myself focused throughout it all. Amen

Rest in Peace

Message received Wednesday 24 August

Dear loving parishioners, with immense sorrow, I share the news that my beloved father Mr V.M Mathew aged 90, passed away in Kerala, India at 10am (India time). He was getting too weak and received Last Rite two days ago on Sunday. His funeral will take place tomorrow at 10.30am (5pm NZ). I will not be able to go and bury my dad at this time. Please keep him and our family in your prayers.

Thank you
