Introducing Renee Hutchinson, our new Deputy Principal
It is a great privilege to take up the role of Deputy Principal at JPII.
I hail from Kirikiriroa Hamilton in the Waikato.
My teaching background is in Catholic education, at Aquinas College in Tauranga and most recently at St John’s College in Hamilton. I have also taught internationally and in a NZ state school.
I have been involved in school leadership through pastoral care and student well-being roles, and curriculum leadership in the English subject space.
I have joined the fantastic staff at JPII after 18 months at the Ministry of Education in Nelson where I was the Education Advisor for our West Coast Schools - Granity down to Haast.
As an educator and school leader, I believe that school must be a place with students and their whanau and families firmly at the centre.
Our education must be inclusive of all and exclusive of none.
I cannot thank the staff and students of JPII enough for the enthusiastic welcome I have received, and I look forward to serving the JPII community.
Ngā mihi
Renée Hutchinson
