Kia ora,
On Monday, the Mission Team (formerly Catholic Character hub) fundraised $358 towards Red Cross to support those impacted by the cyclone. Thank you for your support.
This week Wellbeing Wednesday was renamed wet Wednesday but this did not stop the enthusiasm of the students, who turned out again in force to take part in the Bootcamp. This time the juniors were working with Marty in the gym and the seniors worked with Lisa in the hall. It is great to see everyone, including the staff giving it a good go, we now just need to keep the momentum going!
Wednesday was also the start of the Holy season of Lent, a time for reflection and repentance in preparation for the celebration of Easter. I would like to thank Father Matthew for joining us for our Ash Wednesday liturgy in which the students, staff and some parents received ashes.
Renee is currently away with our student leaders attending the Marist Schools leader’s forum in Kaiapoi, where they will have the chance to meet other students from other Marist Schools on the South Island, share ideas and to network!
Friday will see our will be our first athletics day for a while, and the weather is currently looking great! There will be a write up of the event with photos in next week’s newsletter.
Coming up next week, there will be no club time on Wednesday as our Sports Science Students are running a water race, can you please ensure that if you want to take part you bring in your togs/change of clothes and a towel! We also have a 3 x 3 basketball tournament and some of our seniors out on Tuesday for Touch.
Have a great weekend.
