Tēnā koutou katoa

Every now and again we as teachers are reminded of the greatness that we have in front of us with our students. We were all focused on the Coast to Coast last weekend and in particular Emma Wilson. Emma is a past student now of John Paul II, having left last year, during Year 13 to take up an Electrical Apprenticeship. To win the women's 18-39 age category two day event in only her second attempt at this race, and the first time in this age bracket is a moment of greatness for Emma. It is an amazing achievement, and John Paul II High School congratulate you on this outstanding achievement.

Over this last week our teachers have been phoning our new student parents and inviting you to a welcoming evening here at school, 7pm on Monday night. This is a great chance to meet and connect with your teenagers teachers. We see the relationship between the family and school as vital in your child’s secondary school journey.  Myself and the teachers all look forward to meeting you.

I finish this by asking for your prayers for Mr McCarthy who is not well and suffering with cancer.

God Bless
