From Bishop Paul Martin

New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference —

Please read the newsletter from Bishop Paul Martin regarding COVID-19 and the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference.

Dear All

Greetings to you as we enter this time of returning to Level 2 of the Covid-19 lockdown. We are all disappointed that this has had to take place but we recognize the need to put these steps into place to curtail any further community transmission of the virus.

You will find attached a letter from the NZ Bishops outlining what is to happen at Level 2 for those not in the Auckland area. You will also find practical instructions for Level 2. We have followed this before and you will know what is required. It is important that these regulations are followed and that if you are not able to put these into place then Masses are not celebrated in the parish church.

There are opportunities for those not able to attend Mass to watch the Shine TV televised Mass on Sunday at 1.30 pm. We will also put on the diocesan website any links to other on-line Masses that may be available from around the country.

Obviously, if we return to Level 1 on Saturday morning Masses will be as usual and if we move to Level 3 then those requirements will need to be followed.

Thank you for your work in all of this and the willingness to ensure that we do what is asked of us by the government for the health of all.

Yours in Christ

+Paul
