I am Cameron Klempel and the John Paul II Academic Leader of 2025.

My plan for JPII is to help students learn about NCEA Scholarships, and to bring that opportunity to school. This is a great opportunity for interested students as the prizes can range from $500 for a scholarship in one subject, to $30,000 spread over three years for an outstanding scholarship in three subjects.

I will send out a form to all students shortly to find out who wants extension or the chance to sit scholarship exams and will organise groups and programs to get everyone the extension they need or want.

I would like to continue some initiatives set up last year, such as the riddle competition and the tutoring program, but would like to extend the tutoring program to encompass some literacy as well, to best ensure our juniors are ready to sit their co-requisite exams.

I am also keen to organise activities with the robotics equipment, and will likely get my committee to start investigating possibilities.

Another initiative I would like to implement is a weekly inter-house competition to be completed in form times that is somewhat academic related, to help build house spirit as well as to challenge students in academic competitions.

I am also able to help anyone with their school work, send me an email or come talk to me and I’d be more than happy to help. These are my main goals that I would like to achieve, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of you throughout the year.
