On Wednesday night women and men basketball B grade and C grade started up again. 

We started off with the John Paul Saints playing the GHS Rata. The game started off close in the first quarter, but when the second quarter started the John Paul Saints started to get back to their groove. They started to rally lay up after lay up, they finished off with a win 79-25 to end of the game. 

Overall the girls played very well as a team and are happy of there 3-0 record to start of the season.

Later that night the John Paul Junior A team played the Grey HS A team. The game started off very close with both teams playing flawlessly and not giving away any easy points. Throughout the second and third quarters, it was a very nail-biting game where you could not tell who was going to take it out at the end. 

When the fourth quarter started we all knew the game was going to get heated. Late into the fourth quarter, the game was still very close but Grey High was up by two points. The John Paul Junior A team called a time out. After the timeout, Antonio Verhoeven started taking control of the game by hitting back to back layups, and then later in the last minute of the game Antonio sunk a very crucial free throw that would bring John Paul in front by 6 points, in the last minute of the game.

The last game of the night had the John Paul Cardinals playing a social team with adults called the Pirates. The John Paul Cardinals started off slow in the first two-quarters of the game losing by 15 points going into half time. 

The boys started backing themselves and started driving into the paint more. Even though they were outsized they stared getting foul calls when they would drive, giving their opposition the opportunity to make some free throws. 

Leading into the 4th quarter the Cardinals went out with one goal trying to outscore the Pirates in the last quarter of the game. The Cardinals had lots of heart and pushed each other as a team even though they did not get the result they wanted the scoreboard did not reflect how they played. (final score 45-34 to the Pirates.)

The John Paul Senior A team are playing the Jesters tonight at 5.45 pm. Come along to support them.
