Science Dissections and STEM
We have been lucky enough to have a donation of eye balls from ANZCO Foods, and some spare newspapers from the Greymouth Star.
Students carried out some excellent dissections which gave them some hands on experience of the theory we have been learning in lessons. All students should be congratulated on their respect of the animals, with a student in each group leading the prayer before each session. Hopefully we’ll have some budding medics following their experiences!
We have also been focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and using newspapers to complete various challenges. Students have so far designed and constructed tall towers, sturdy chairs, and marble runs. This has allowed them to creatively solve problems, as well as practice team work skills. Some of their engineering has been very impressive and hopefully we’ll have some fine engineers in the future!
