Sports Coordinator

John Paul II High School is looking for a part-time (18 hours per week, term time only) sports coordinator to join our team. The key foci of this role is promoting participation in sports to all students, and the organisation and communication of sports events throughout the school. Work will be both on site and accompanying students/teams for events. Many of our ranagtahi live for sport, so our ideal canididate is someone who is active and participates in sports within the community already.

Our current Sports Coordinator is heading back to study, and leaves a well-organised and resourced area. Support will be provided to our new sports coordinator to guide them into the role.

We want to hear from you if you are passionate about getting our rangatahi engaged in sport and physical activity, and have the following attributes:

  • an outstanding communicator who can relate well with high school age players.

  • organised, and can manage a minimum of two major sporting codes. (preferably one being basketball) as well as several minor codes.

  • Work well within a team environment with excellent administrative skills.

  • Excellent people and networking skills.

  • Ability to work independently and with initiative to get the job done to a high standard.

  • Upholds the school's LIGHT values at school and when taking students out on sporting events.

  • Full clean drivers license and ability to drive a manual vehicle. Police vetting is required for this role. First Aid certificate essential.
