Ugly Shakespeare came to JPII
From: Sophie Butcher, Charlotte Jamieson, Meesha Ritchie, Keira Collin and Amber Fenemor
The Ugly Shakespeare Company came to John Paul II and performed a play on Romeo and Julz.
There were 3 female actors who were from Auckland and Christchurch.
As everyone knows, Romeo and Julz is a story about two lovers whose families are enemies, but they fall in love and get married within 5 days! Romeo starts out being in love with Rosalind, but then he sneaks into a party and sees a gorgeous girl named Julz and falls head over heels in love with her instead.
The performance went for an hour and the story was entertaining, funny, and romantic at the same time.
All the seniors sat on chairs and the rest of us sat on the floor. They decided to pick on Lofa which was quite entertaining. Then they did some Tik Tok trends such as dances and vortexing. One of the girls decided to pick on Ella, they asked us who can play the ukulele and Ella put her hand up. One of the girls said, “I'm going to awkwardly stare at you, you're probably going to feel very uncomfortable but just keep playing” . Ella played the song Riptide. After all that, the girls squirted the crowd with water. Luckily, I didn't get wet.
After one hour it finished, it was really funny and I would definitely recommend others to see their performances. Their social media is @uglyshakespeare. They put a lot of effort into this performance.
