Seniors Complete First Aid Course

Elz Rollo —

JPII Students Gain Level 1, First Aid Qualification

On Friday the 13th August, 19 Students were lucky enough to participate in a level one first aid course.

We learnt a range of skills, eg how to respond at accident scenes, how to treat cuts, sprains, allergic reactions etc, to CPR for adults' and babies.

We also learnt how to respond in emergency situations - how to deal with them before the ambulance turns up, when it’s a good time to call the ambulance, what type of emergency calls 111 receive, how they prioritise them, and why.

A level one first aid course can be very beneficial for young people in their future jobs, and many require Level 1, so it’s a great school funded asset to add to future CVs.

Gateway funded 6 students and the rest of the students were Star funded for this course.

Future year groups should look out for these awesome opportunities as they are beneficial not only to you, but everybody around you.
