This image of The Annunciation was painted in 1947 by Colin McCahon. McCahon paints from John’s Gospel and was consciously giving local vernacular expression to the mysteries of the bible.

All staff and students joined in with the Marist prayer network today in response to Pope Francis call to prayer for Ukraine and Russia. Both these Countries share a common Orthodoxy and have been Consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE4h8Yk_xug

Students and staff enrolled in the Confirmation programme met yesterday to begin their preparation.

Many thanks to all the John Paul II community who made the Tonga/Caritas fundraiser day such a success, I have been advised that there has been more than $300 raised with some contributions still to be counted.

On Monday a group of Year 12 students visited the parish Church to appreciate some of the intricate art and sculpture that was preserved for the parish when the new church was built. It is part of the curriculum for this year level.

Next Friday 1 April at 5.30 pm the students of JPII will be leading the Stations of the Cross in the parish. Please come and support them.

In Holy Week, the school will be visited by the Catholic Youth Team. Always great to have them visit.
