Kia ora koutou katoa

Last Friday the Learning Area leaders attended a day retreat to reflect on the curriculum at JPII and their role in leading it forward in the 21st Century.

There was important rich discussion about local curriculum, Mātauranga Māori, and curriculum integration. Special thanks to Corinne Coulthard, our new LAL Social Sciences, for travelling over from Christchurch to join us and share her wealth of curriculum leadership experience. This week the Senior Leadership Team also went on retreat and had the opportunity to reflect on the successes and challenges we have experienced as a school, and importantly bring together feedback from various consultation documents we have shared with you this year and last. We have drafted a new set of values to underpin teaching and learning and pastoral care at JPII. We look forward to sharing these with you when we have received feedback from staff and students. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their ideas with us as these are invaluable for mapping the future at JPII.

All students are in the swing of exam season with year 9 & 10 students having their exams next week. We know our juniors have been revising hard to give their exams the best go they can. We wish you all the best for strong achievement!

Please take note of the key dates for the end of year Mass and Prizegiving and the start of 2023. We will welcome our incoming Year 9 students with a bespoke transition day on Friday 9 December. Details have been sent out so please check your inboxes for further information.

Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable weekend.
