What wonderful news -  a new Bishop for our Diocese! And his motto is that of St John Paul II - Totus Tuus, translating loosely to Totally Yours. 

The Spirit of Pentecost moving in this world. This Friday a group of students from the Catholic Character Hub presented a Liturgy celebrating this feast, the Church’s birthday. Many thanks to these students.

With winter certainly here the Catholic Character Hub is busy planning the Can Drive for our local community. Vinnies, Salvation Army, and Women’s refuge.

The Catholic Youth Team are facilitating the Year 11 and 12 Reflections days on 28 and 29 July. Notices will be sent home mid June.

Feast of Marcellin Champagnat, Marcellin was canonized on 18 April 1999, and his Feast day is 6th of June.

The Marist Brothers were established here in Mawhera in 1892 at the request of Rev Fr Dean Carew. It was in 1932 that the Secondary school was established and in 1942 the Marists’ established the first Catholic Technical school in Aotearoa, here in Mawhera.

Over the coming week, Marists in Australia are celebrating 150 years. To support the celebrations there, JPIIHS are focusing on the Marist journey and devotion to Mary, Mother of Jesus through staff and student prayer.
