Deputy Principal Panui

We are already half-way through term 2 and winter has very much arrived! The rain we had earlier in the week meant that even some of our toughest students were diving for cover and unfortunately meant the rugby on Wednesday was cancelled, the rain however provided time for our students to take part in a lunchtime sing off:

This morning we held our Pentecost liturgy followed by some really interesting information regarding the meaning behind the importance of Matariki – in preparation for the country's first holiday in celebration of this event in a few weeks' time.

Today has also seen the judging of our four junior homerooms, where students have been busy (or in some cases not busy) over the past few weeks establishing their rooms as their base within school and having an opportunity to put their stamp on them. With the help of our student leaders the winning room was 10 Champagnat and their prize will be pizza for the whole class team next week.   Well done to all the teams that have made a real effort with this, its something we will aim to continue into next term so that we can build on the progress we have made.

I hope everyone has an extremely restful and enjoyable long weekend.

Nga mihi,

Dan Steggles
