JPII Students Represent at West Coast Sports Tournaments

Congratulations to the following John Paul II students that have been selected into the West Coast Representative teams for 2021.

Basketball:

WC U15 Boys:

  • Matthew Molloy, 
  • Marko Lefeifua and

WC U18s boys 

  • Mac Gibson, 
  • Mero Williams 
  • Lofa Leiefua.  

WC U18s Girls

  • Phoenix Smith, 
  • Renae Smith, 
  • Sammi Fahey and 
  • Bronah Gibbens.

Rugby League:

Also a big Congratulations to the John Paul II students who played for the West Coast Rugby League schoolboys teams who travelled to Invercargill over the school holidays.  

In the U18's we had Mac Gibson (C), Ben Giles, and Netana Kanara. Their team had a successful tournament having two wins, one loss and one draw. They also came away with the Team of the Tournament ("It's Not Ok") trophy, which is a great achievement.

In the U16's we had Aston Wilson (C), Lofa Leleifua, Liam Donaldson and Lochie Gibson. They also had a rewarding weekend with two wins and two losses but overall had a great tournament. 

Congratulations to Aston Wilson who was also named in the training squad for the South Island U16 Scorpions.

It was great to see both Mac Gibson and Aston Wilson earning themselves captains of their respective age groups as well as their player of the day awards.

Netball:

Congratulations to the following girls selected in the West Coast Netball Representative teams, with their tournaments due to kick off this weekend in Hokitika:

U14 Development:

WC U16's:

  • Renae Smith.

WC U18's:
