We’ve made it! The blur that was Term 3 has come to a much-anticipated end today, with students and staff ready for a well-deserved break.

Last week the Agriculture Club and the Marine Science Club visited the Westland Milk Factory and Wadeson Island Wetland Restoration in Hokitika.

On Tuesday, 14 John Paul II students competed in the West Coast Rugby Sevens Mini-Tournament. Held at Marist grounds in Karoro, the Boys' team took on Greymouth High and Buller High, while our girls combined with Greymouth High to take on Buller High.

New Zealand is ranked second in the developed world for youth suicide rates where there are 14.9 deaths per 100,000 adolescents.

Our students have learnt about real candidates, parties and election issues, and next term the whole student body will gain a first-hand voting experience in our mock elections.

On November 8, 2023, CNN are holding the third annual Call to Earth Day. Celebrating a planet worth protecting, they’ll partner with schools, individuals and organizations across the world to raise awareness of environmental issues and to engage with conservation education. John Paul II High School will be joining them.
