GETTING ON AND OFF THE BUS

A timely reminder for our students to wait until the bus pulls in to the stop before getting on to the bus.

We have had reports that some older students have been pushing through primary school students. While this is a small group of students from all school on the bus runs, we would like to remind all students to be aware of primary school students, look after them and be kind to them. Do not push past them, no-one is going to miss out on a seat!

If you need to cross the road after being on the bus, don't run out and across the road - find a safe place, wait until the bus has moved away so you can see clearly in both directions, and then cross. We want to see you on the bus and at school the following day

WAITING FOR THE BUS

While waiting for the bus, please stand to the back of the path. We need to remember that the bus stop is a public place and as such, members of the public use the path as well. Be polite and courteous. Bear in mind, you are in school uniform and therefore identifiable!

HAVING A FRIEND ON THE BUS

All school bus users are registered. If you are having a friend over for the night, and coming in to school on the bus the next day, your friend is not allowed on the bus unless the bus company knows and there are enough seats for everyone. Usually, there are enough seats to go around, but the bus company need to know first.

WHILE ON THE BUS

It is important to stay seated on the bus, don't yell or play loud music. Watch your language as well, no-one needs to hear bad language!! Keep your bag either on your knee or under your seat, there is absolutely no reason for you to throw it around while you are on the bus. The roads are busy before and after school, and the buses are big vehicles - the driver needs to concentrate on the roads and getting you safely to your destination. Remember to be polite and respectful to your bus driver and thank them.

School rules apply while you are on the bus. If you aren't allowed to do it at school, you are not allowed to do it on the bus. Smoking, vaping and alcohol are absolutely forbidden on the bus.

CONSEQUENCES

You may end up not being allowed on the bus if any issues with behaviour on the bus or while waiting for the school are not resolved.
