Within ASB we have seen an increase in scams via Mobiles phones. Please read through our Newsletter for the most updated information.

Fraud:

We would like to bring to your attention the most prominent text messages currently in circulation. In all the below mentioned please don’t follow the instructions, speak to us at ASB or delete the message.

  • IRD – click link for re-imbursements
  • Tol – Tollgate fees especially if travelling near Tauranga
  • NZ Post – collect a parcel and pay $1.50
  • Voice activated calls – in most cases saying there is issues with your cards please press 1 etc.
  • Messages from ASB – they are either sent by mobile numbers, links end with .com instead of co.nz

We take the protection of your money seriously so please don’t hesitate to forward any emails/txts to phishing@asb.co.nz or if you think your banking may have been compromised, please contact 0800-272372.

Travelling Overseas:

With school trips (Staff and Students) back happening we have some information below.

Credit Cards – if a staff member is using their ASB School Business Credit Card please advise ASB of the staff members name, dates of travel, country travelling to, cell number and email address. It is important we have this information on file should ASB need to contact them whilst travelling.

Foreign Cash - ASB no longer buys and sells FX cash and has arranged for customers to obtain FX cash at preferential rates directly from Travelex. Use the ASB Promotion code of ASBTVX21 at www.travelex.co.nz to buy FX cash online and pick up from a Travelex store at the Airport. ASB customers can also buy or sell FX cash at a preferential rate at any Travelex store in NZ when presenting an ASB card.

Travel Cards are another option to use when you have staff/student travelling overseas. Travelex along with a number of other companies can issue these.

Fastnet Business:

For any queries relating to Fastnet Business, our amazing Help Desk team are the experts and can be contacted on 0800 22 55 27 or email FNBHelpdesk@asb.co.nz . The helpdesk is available Monday to Friday 7.30am – 8pm.

Tip – if your auditors are asking for online delegations please go to Administration – Users – User Profile Report – select all. This outlines everyone that has online access to the school accounts and the level of access.

Please review this on a regular basis.

Interest Rates:

The Education Administration Account current interest rate is 2.10% pa effective 1st April 2023.
The Savings on Call account current interest rate is 2.65% pa effective 27th April 2023

Youthline
ASB wants all young people to know that it’s okay to seek help, and that Youthline is there to offer free support. Together, Youthline and ASB are developing a youth leadership programme aimed at improving the mental wellbeing of young New Zealanders. Kidscan
KidsCan is a charitable organisation dedicated to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to learn, regardless of their family circumstances. They work with schools to break the cycle of hardship, providing food and essential items to kids in need, so they can focus on learning. Springboard Trust
The Springboard Trust’s vision is to dramatically improve the life skills of young New Zealanders through enhancing school leadership capability. The Strategic Leadership for Principal’s Program is a free 10-month programme that leverages cross-sector expertise to provide strategic leadership development and support for New Zealand Principals. ASB’s role as Strategic Partner for the Trust has seen them provide many senior business leaders from within the business to support the programme as mentors and subject matter experts.
