From the Principal

Kia ora

It has been a very busy term and I would like to wish you all a very relaxing two week holiday, and hope you enjoy some rest and refreshment. This has not been an easy term with Lockdown being forced upon us, and to cap everything else off we had no power yesterday for part of the day which put us all behind.

Yesterday school photos were taken by Stewart Nimmo. Photos will be available to view by logging into the Stewart Nimmo website (details will be sent to us as soon as he has sorted the photos).

Alert level 2 has meant large gatherings being restricted here at school, this includes assembly and Masses.  A rose was planted today in memory of ex-staff member Andrew McCarthy in our school memorial garden.  Following this we had a small ceremony and attendance, then staff and visitors gathered in the staff room for an afternoon tea.

Some of our Yr11 Maths students sat the MCAT exam on Tuesday which began our NCEA external exams for the year.  All the best to these students. Our senior students will now be focusing on studying for the school derived grade exams starting week 2 of Term 4.

A reminder that Term 4 starts at 8.40am on 18 October. I look forward to seeing you all back at school refreshed and ready for a very busy Term 4.

END OF TERM PRAYER

We thank you Lord, for this Term. For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends. Give us strength and courage to do what is right; to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others, to be peacemakers in our family. Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us. May we always be conscious of you in our lives. Amen
