It is finally here, the end of term 3!

Well done to all our students who over the past week have been busy selecting their subjects for next year. In term 4 we will let students know if they have been accepted for Trades and Gateway courses, and if there are any issues with their subject choices we will be in touch. We’ll work very hard to ensure all students are accessing the subjects they need.

The end of term Variety Show was organised and presented by Student Leaders of John Paul II and Greymouth high schools. This was the first event of its kind and we’ll definitely be having more! The evening was a spectacular success, and very uplifting. There was a lot of talent on offer. We’ll share more about it next term.

Last weekend saw a couple of our students take part in the Canterbury Science Fair, held in Christchurch. They did exceptionally well, which is not a surprise, as this is just a reflection of their immense talents in science! There is more information and some photos below.

This afternoon has not only brought sunshine and a bit of wind, but has seen our students competing in the JPII Town vs Country league game down at Wingham Park. It has taken a huge effort from staff, students and parents to get the whole school down there to enjoy the game. We will publish some photos and the scores next term.

A reminder that if you have not done so already as a parent of a senior student, please log into School Point to make an appointment for the forthcoming parent/teacher/student conferences early in term 4.

I wish students and staff a restful break, and look forward to welcoming everyone back for the start of term 4 full of energy and ready for exam season!
