PRESENCE

At John Paul II we are Present to the students in a way that shows the whole community cares for them personally.

Staff do this by being attentive and welcoming to students’ needs, while taking an active interest in the lives of young people.  Presence is a key focus for all our John Paul II community, as it links to the Presence of Christ in our daily lives through Eucharist.

This week staff and students have celebrated St Marcellin Champagnat through prayer.

Over the coming weeks the Junior Catholic Character hub are organizing and collecting food items for our local community, that include Vinnies, the Sallies, and the Sisters of Mercy here in Mawhera.

Youth today face many challenges negotiating the wider world and we ensure our students are given every opportunity available to support them.  To help with this we welcome REAP to JPII to facilitate the Mates and Dates programme.  This is an essential programme for Years 9-11 informing them on cyber safety, personal safety, and what is appropriate on social media.

Next week, the CYT team will be addressing the school assembly, promoting the annual Antioch camp.
