As the term draws to an end the weeks just seem to get busier! This week has seen our Y11 students participate in the NCEA Numeracy and Literacy tests. Students are to be commended for the professional way they sat the exams, especially given they are completely new and fully online. We expect the results to be released within the next 6-8 weeks.

Mrs. Francis and Mrs. Johnson accompanied our Y12 students on a trip to Christchurch on Thursday/Friday this week. They have the incredible opportunity to work in the physics labs of the University of Canterbury along with students from several other West Coast Schools. In next week's newsletter, we will provide a detailed write-up of their enriching experiences during this physics-focused expedition.

We understand that the ongoing industrial action has caused significant disruptions, particularly for our senior students. We sincerely apologise for any stress this may have caused and hope that the PPTA can work with the government to resolve this as soon as possible. Rest assured, we are actively exploring ways to alleviate these issues by working with our curriculum leaders to reduce the number of assessments, whilst ensuring the students achieve their NZQA level. Emphasizing quality over quantity is our primary goal, as it is to ensure a supportive learning environment for all our students, in these uncertain times.

Today, we have sent out a survey to all students to gather feedback on the current club offerings. This valuable input will enable us to make necessary adjustments to club schedules for Term 3. We greatly appreciate the participation of our students and look forward to enhancing their experience of Wednesday’s based on their preferences and interests and providing opportunities to learn in other ways.

A reminder to all parents and caregivers that an updated attitude and effort report will be sent out on Monday, June 19th. These reports serve as an excellent opportunity to track your child's progress. We encourage you to review these reports in collaboration with your child to foster a supportive learning partnership. Written reports will be sent in week 10 focused on learning and progress.
