Countdown and ServiceIQ work for school students. REGISTER ONLINE HERE

Kia ora,

You will be aware that COVID-19 is continuing to cause problems for many people in our communities. One that you may have experienced yourself, and that has the potential to cause distress for some people, including aged or disabled whānau, is staff shortages in supermarkets. This is leading to unstocked shelves and service or delivery delays - all stressful for some people.

These problems have concerned us, too, and we have worked with one of our Gateway partners on a solution, which also benefits your students. Your work-ready students can apply for part-time paid work in your local Countdown store. Students will be paid the starting wage of $20.40 per hour ($21.20 when the New Zealand minimum wage increase comes into effect 1 April 2022).

We are working with the team at Countdown to ensure that the needs of your students are considered, which is why this initiative is targeted to the schools ServiceIQ works with, and to your students. Students do not need to have completed SEEDS previously, and is only for part-time paid work outside school hours.

Your students can register online at www.ServiceIQ.org.nz/work There is more information there about this initiative too. Please share with your students.

Please let me know if there's anything I can help with, or you have any questions.

Ngā mihi,

Cathryn
