Kia Ora koutou katoa

I have had the privilege this week to meet many of the students and parents of our incoming Year 9s for 2023.

I’ve enjoyed meeting their parents and I’m grateful for their offer of service to the school in coaching, managing, and contributing to the PTA. We’ll keep you updated about the PTA in the new year. Next week on Friday, our new Year 9s will come to school for their induction day: tour the school, meet their teachers, try subject options, and importantly make connections with their peers. Students will also receive instructions for their first day of 2023.

A special mention to Sarah Manoj (year 10) for exemplifying the spirit of manaakitanga by touring around two St Patrick’s students who can’t make it to the induction next Friday. Your generosity of your care, time, and knowledge is truly appreciated!

Please note, we would appreciate students to be in their current school uniforms.

This week our senior NCEA students finished their exams and what a relief that is for them! Our junior students have been receiving their exam results and feedback, too. It is important that they reflect on their points for improvement and produce an actionable plan to address them in 2023.

We are looking forward to our full school mass and prizegiving on 8th December starting at 6:30pm. We will formally farewell our Year 13 students and introduce our new Head Students and Student Leadership Team. All students will need to attend in full correct school uniform. We will see you there.

Next week is also the last week of school on site for our Year 9 and 10 students. They will be working off-site on the 12 & 13 December doing service to help their families and community.

I would like to thank everyone for your support this year.
